But while we wait for that low-slung predator to hit the track, Genesis has given us something we can actually live with—and it’s absolutely glowing.
The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma has officially graduated from concept to production, and it’s proof that “Luxury High Performance” doesn’t have to mean an uncompromising ride.
The Performance: Ioniq 5 N DNA, Tailored for Luxury
At Cars and Track, we love a good sleeper, and while the “Magma Orange” paint is anything but subtle, the engineering underneath is surgical. It shares the same E-GMP bones as the legendary Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, but with a refined Genesis twist:
- The Punch: A dual-motor AWD system pumping out 601 hp in normal driving, jumping to a staggering 641 hp when you hit the Boost Mode button.
- The Sprint: 0-60 mph happens in just 3.4 seconds. It’s conservative, but in the real world, that’s enough to rearrange your groceries.
- The Control: Unlike its rowdier cousins, the GV60 Magma features a lower center of gravity, wider 21-inch forged wheels, and a chassis tuned for what Genesis calls “rewarding, not challenging” dynamics.

As much as we love track days, most of our miles happen on the commute. This is where the Magma shines over a traditional supercar: - Refinement: Despite the aggressive aero and 400mm front brakes, Genesis kept the cabin serene with active noise cancellation and sound-insulating glass.

The heat is coming soon. Production is slated to begin in Q2 2027, with pricing expected to land between $75,000 and $85,000. It’s a premium over the standard GV60, but for a factory-tuned performance icon you can drive to the office every day, it’s a compelling argument.
